Oak Park Mutual Aid is a coalition of neighbors dedicated to directly caring for one another and those around us in greatest need. Through consistent and deliberate action, we aim to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 through dynamic economic and social support and leave a lasting impression of resiliency in the community that will carry on past this crisis. We are what we create together.

OPMA provides direct community support including food assistance and limited financial assistance to those most in need.  Additionally, OPMA seeks to provide updated information from local government bodies and other reputable sources about COVID-19 and how it is impacting our communities.  Our website also includes a collection of resources that can help support those living in Oak Park, Illinois and surrounding area during this difficult time

Our volunteer network strives to provide support services to those most impacted by COVID-19. We assist community members with the following:

  • Food assistance
  • Medication/Grocery pick up
  • Limited financial assistance (up to $100)
  • Wellness check via telephone for family members and friends
  • Referrals for mental health support and other services

We will do our best to follow up regarding your request within 48 hours.  Unfortunately, we are a resident-based volunteer network and CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE ABILITY TO MEET YOUR NEEDS.  In the case that we are unable to do so, we will provide referrals to other agencies and/or mutual aid groups that may be able to better support you.

VOLUNTEER WITH OAK PARK MUTUAL AID

Volunteers are the heart and soul OPMA – the work we are doing would be impossible without them!  There are various ways to get involved with OPMA. We are seeking volunteers to support us with a range of important tasks, from completing direct assistance requests like grocery deliveries to marketing, fundraising, maintaining up-to-date resource lists, and more. How much or how little you get involved is completely up to you!
